Of
all the people involved in the power or sail boat purchase process, John
Bond Marine Surveyor is the person working for you, providing objective information
about your pre-purchase or insurance marine surveys. My goals are to help the buyer of new or used boats screen out the good from the bad by identifying flaws and recommending repairs. I have performed, buyer sight unseen, boat and yacht pre purchase marine surveys for clients from the United Kingdom, United States, British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Quebec to name a few. Between our phone conversations, emails and the content of my survey reports, the reader can visualize the vessel. By way of definition, marine surveys are done to determine a boats condition, its safety and its value. A marine surveyor must be familiar with every part of a boat and know how it is all put together. He should know what the common faults and failures are and how to recognize them. His opinion should be professional and unbiased. To be certain the marine surveyor you hire has the experience, ethics, and professionalism to properly represent your interests, be sure that he or she belongs to a professional organization. The Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS®) has a rigorous continuing education process, the highest of standards and is the largest Marine Surveyor organization in the world. Transport Canada TP 14673 Says "Over time, your boat may develop mechanical, electrical, structural or fuel system problems. Left unnoticed, they can result in loss of life and property. Make sure your boat is safe. Get it inspected by an accredited marine surveyor or technician" |
